Fresh Basil Dressing

So yes, I’m a little late this week. I know. Here in PA, it’s been rainy, gross, and all around dreary the past nine days. Not only am I sluggish, but my motivation has been literally… nothing. So I slacked. Fail Alysha. But I hope I can make it up for you with a summer family favorite. I figured, if it can’t be bright and cheery outside… at least I can make something a little bright and cheery.

Beach, Wedding, and Mai Tais

Flipping through gram’s notes, this recipe for Mai Tai’s stood out to me. Not because it’s a Mai Tai… but because it’s unlike any Mai Tai recipe I have ever seen. This thing could seriously take the paint off a car. So.. using the hubs as my taste tester, we started out with the base recipe (pictured below) and made our own modifications to make it ‘more fun sipping’ drink and less ‘my whole body is on fire’ drink.

Cayman Islands, Jamaica, and Mexico… Oh my!

My oh my.. what a wonderful last week and a half it’s been. And what a week it’s been trying to get back into the flow of.. well, life. I tried my hardest to chronicle our trip but I certainly got sucked into the moment many times. So yes, long post, but trying to cram a three different countries during a week and a half trip is seriously harder than it looks!

Our family always asks with any event, “What was the best part vs what was the worst part?” So in Yoder family tradition style, I’ll give you my run down.
